Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Controller to join our team and oversee the financial operations of our property management division. The Controller will play a pivotal role in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and transparency in all financial matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of financial principles in the property management industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for properties under management.

Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance, trends, and forecasts.

Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Lead the budgeting process, working closely with property managers and stakeholders to establish realistic financial goals.

Monitor budget performance, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.

Forecast future financial outcomes based on historical data, market trends, and business objectives.

Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure adequate funds are available for operations and investments.

Implement efficient cash management practices and optimize banking relationships.

Forecast cash flow requirements and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Oversee internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and maintain integrity in financial reporting.

Coordinate audits and liaise with auditors to facilitate the audit process.

Financial Leadership and Team Management:

Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Mentor and develop staff, empowering them to achieve their full potential and contribute to the overall success of the team.

Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to achieve strategic objectives and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.

5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in the property management or real estate industry.

Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, and financial modeling software.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Leadership experience with a proven track record of building and motivating high-performing teams.
